KINK IN MY HONEY

HUSK97 Kink In My Honey now available

I’d never seen the sun rise from the water, and set in the same sea. A trip to the dodocanese islands, with my love and guide, filled me with wonder and inspiration.

There are lots of tones and emotions in Husk97 songs; the over-riding tone here is joy.

The song itself started, as many do, on an acoustic guitar, strumming a folk-like riff. Words and melodies collided into a song, but it evolved and anchored when we played it all together. Donnchadh brought his magic to it, creating a hooky riff that, brings me to the water’s edge. Gabriel and Mick held down the rythmn section, each playing a new role as if they were old hands.

And when those two voices get it right together, there’s a magic in the air.

We recorded it after just a few rehearsals, but it sounds to me like a solid band, each aware of the other’s moves. A temporary fleeting lineup that shimmered and shone

A song with a very special place in my heart
