A defiant song, written in a tiny damp house off Dublin’s Grand Canal Street, at a time when all seemed lost/ to play for.
A live favourite when we were gigging around town, we tried recording it a couple of times, to no-avail. There was always something that didn’t get translated from the live room to the recording.
I like to think that some of the magic comes from the recording desk, once owned by Fergus O’Farrel the legendary singer/songwriter from the Interference. We did a session recording to tape, and immediately felt, for this song, that we’d hit the right notes.
